Pavillion Committee

The Pavilion Committee is made up from representatives from the Parish Council and the different sports clubs that use the facilities.

Our role is to provide a safe environment for all team members and visitors that use the pavilion. We also work closely with other local groups who wish to use the facilities for occasional and annual events. We are also responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the pavilion, whilst managing the funding and payments for the amenities.

Although the football and cricket pitches are not the pavilion committee’s responsibility, we are fortunate that two members of the committee are the grounds men and so can high light any issue to the Parish council regarding the conditions, wear and tear and health and safety issues with the sports areas.

The sporting teams using the pavilion are:
Silchester Cricket Club - http://silchester.play-cricket.com/home/home.asp
Silchester Football Club
Calleva Football Club

The Committee is made up from:
Andrew Chandler – Parish Council
Gerry Gardner – Treasurer (Silchester Cricket Club)
Paul Evans – Silchester Football Club (grounds man)
Paul Hearn – Silchester Cricket Club (grounds man)
Tim Stagg – Calleva Football Club

Silchester Utd FC are a men’s team who play in the Basingstoke & District League on Saturdays, they have been running for some twenty three years but have been around since the 1919.

We have just been promoted to Division One after a very successful season reaching two Cup Finals.

We will be starting our Training on Sunday mornings from the end of June.

As we are self funding team we are always on the look out for new sponsors to help us purchase new equipment eg, Goal Posts, balls, first aid kit etc.
